Tulips for Ukraine: A Gift from the Netherlands

During the full-scale invasion, the Netherlands gifted Ukraine 42,000 tulips, which have delighted the residents and visitors of Odessa for two consecutive springs.

In 2024, thanks to the efforts of Honorary Consul of Ukraine in the Netherlands, Mr. Emil de Sevren Jaquet, and the chairman of the Dutch Tulip Producers Association, Mr. Arjan Smit, Ukrainian communities received 450,000 tulips.

These charming flowers adorned the flowerbeds of Kyiv, Lviv, Bucha, and other cities. This time, Mr. Arjan Smit came with a new initiative from Dutch entrepreneurs — to gift Ukraine a million tulips in 2025.

He visited the office of KP «Miskzelentrest» to discuss the quantity and timelines for the provision of planting material.

During the meeting with the director of the Department of International Cooperation, Culture, and Marketing, Ivan Liptuga, other areas of future collaboration with the Netherlands were also discussed.
