Establishment of a New Community Space in Odesa
A new community space, the Odesa Community Hub, is being established to improve interactions between the public and local authorities.
This was announced by the mayor of Odesa, Hennadii Trukhanov, during an extraordinary Executive Committee meeting.
According to the mayor, this hub will serve as a venue for equal opportunities and an inclusive environment where civic organizations can engage in activities, hold meetings, and collaboratively implement projects to enhance the lives of city residents and internally displaced persons.
A two-story building with a large basement on Uspenska Street has been allocated for this purpose. The Capital Construction Department has been tasked with overseeing the renovation, for which project documentation has already been prepared.
“Our active youth have stepped up. In December, the city won a grant from UNDP amounting to nearly $150,000, which will fund the renovation work. The implementation period is until March 15, 2025,” the mayor reported.
By the Executive Committee's decision, the project documentation has been transferred from the Capital Construction Department to the Odesa Municipal Youth Center. The mayor has instructed the head of the Construction Department to assist the youth in the realization of the “Odesa Community Hub” project.
