Enhancing Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Safety
On September 19, the city of Tulcea (Romania) hosted a significant conference where representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region discussed the project «Enhancement of Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Safety along the Danube – FIPRO RO-UA» (ROUA00095).
The Ukrainian delegation was led by Major General of Civil Protection Denis Platonov.
The delegation included specialists responsible for implementing this project.
During the conference, the Ukrainian side presented their plans for participation in the project «Enhancement of Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Safety along the Danube – FIPRO RO-UA» (ROUA00095). Specifically, new vehicles to be acquired through the initiative were showcased: one specialized cargo vehicle and two passenger vehicles.
This equipment is critically important for monitoring the situation in the areas served by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Odessa region, particularly in the cities of Izmail, Reni, Kiliya, and Vilkovo. In cases of simultaneous emergencies occurring in multiple localities, the State Emergency Service must be prepared for parallel monitoring and rapid response across all affected areas.
Representatives of the «Delta» Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Tulcea County, who are key partners in this project, also attended the conference.
The project «Enhancement of Cross-Border Cooperation in Fire Safety along the Danube – FIPRO RO-UA» (ROUA00095) aims to improve the effectiveness of fire response in the border region between Ukraine and Romania. The implementation of joint initiatives will strengthen the technical capabilities of rescue services, facilitate experience exchange, and ensure coordinated actions during emergency situations. This conference marked a significant step forward in developing cooperation between Ukraine and Romania to enhance safety for their communities.
