Winners of the “A Time of Great Expectations”

On September 17, 2025, the Odesa City Library No. 2 held a ceremony to honor the winners of the First Municipal Annual Contest "Time of Great Expectations". This event was organized to support creative individuals in various fields of art and literature, to revive interest in the local region, its history, and present, as well as to promote humanitarian ideas. The Executive Committee of the Odessa City Council established the annual contest "Time of Great Expectations".

A total of 31 works were submitted to the contest: books, collections, magazines, and paintings.

According to the jury's decision, the winner in the "Prose" category was the well-known Odesa writer Oleksandr Surilov for his book "The Business Debut of Odessa", dedicated to the memory of brave pioneers of the automotive movement in Odesa.

In the "Poetry" category, the winner was the talented poet Roman Lyubarsky (Kropyvnytskyi) for his poetry collection "Lilac Paradise".

Roman Lyubarsky, a member of the National Union of Journalists and Writers of Ukraine, has received recognition in several literary competitions. His works have been published in many journals, and the collection "Lilac Paradise" reflects faith in victory and the pain of loss.

In the "Regional Studies" category, the winner was journalist Felix Kohrikht for his unique publications about the history and present of Odesa.

The "Maritime Studies" category awarded Anton Sanchensko (Kyiv) for the anthology "Matelot", which includes the best stories from the Ukrainian maritime prose competition.

All participants of the contest also received certificates of appreciation.

The winners and participants were congratulated with musical performances by students from Art Schools No. 3 and No. 13.
