Safety Week in Odesa: The Importance of Awareness
From April 21 to 25, 2025, educational institutions in Odesa held a Safety Week.
At the Odesa preschool institution No. 306, a showcase event titled «Cautiousness – The Key to Safety» took place for educators and methodologists. The event featured specialists from emergency services and police.
Practical sessions like «Crossroads: The Work of Road Patrol. Overview of a Patrol Car» were held for older groups, while younger children participated in themed mini-lessons featuring «Dog Marshal and His Friends».
Through games and activities, children learned the importance of following safety rules in everyday life.
As part of Safety Week, representatives from the Ukrainian Red Cross visited Odesa Lyceum No. 56, conducting enlightening sessions on mine safety for 7th to 9th graders. Fourth graders had the chance to explore the rapid response team's vehicle and operations.
Students from the 7th (11th) grade at the «Marinsky» Lyceum participated in a survey titled «What Do I Know About Civil Protection?» sharing their knowledge on emergency actions and safety protocols.
At Odesa Specialized School No. 32, a civil protection representative from the State Emergency Service conducted informational sessions on fire safety and actions upon discovering explosive items, including a practical exercise on evacuation during an «Air Raid Alert».
Safety Week aimed to enhance children's awareness of safety issues and foster a responsible attitude towards their own lives and those of others.
