New Therapeutic Book for Children Affected by War

A new book has been released in Odessa, focusing on children affected by war. Titled «Children of War», this publication serves not only as a work of fiction but also as a crucial tool for psychological support, based on real stories from Ukrainian families impacted by the conflict.

This book has become a voice for the little ones living in fear and anxiety. «Children of War» is more than just a narrative; it initiates a heartfelt conversation that is difficult to start yet essential to have. It is a therapeutic journey through fear, pain, and hope. Written by Olga Grytsyk, a psychologist and mother of three, this book is inspired by her own maternal experiences and the desire to heal others.

The story revolves around a boy who, with his family, is forced to leave their home due to war. Yet, this is not just his story — it reflects the collective voice of many children who ask, «Where is our home now?»

This is not fiction — it is lived experience.
This is not just a plot — it is reality.
These are not mere words — they are support felt on every page. «Children of War» is a book that heals. Every child will find a piece of themselves in this story, — said the author.

The book contains 35 chapters, each gently incorporating therapeutic techniques: art therapy, metaphors, breathing practices. These techniques are presented so naturally that children read and heal without even realizing it.

Psychologist Tetiana Zbrishchak, specializing in war trauma, contributed to the book's creation. She helped instill therapeutic depth and strength into the text. Her voice narrates the audiobook version, allowing mothers to listen together with their children, touching on significant topics.

Do not scold children for «not listening». They are in pain. They hold anxiety inside. By reading or listening to this book, a child stabilizes. Their behavior, attention, and learning will improve, — explains Tetiana.
