Neurologist Doctor Accused of Bribery
Under the guidance of the Kyiv District Prosecutor's Office, a neurologist from a private clinic has been exposed and charged with receiving illegal benefits for influencing the decision of a state official (Part 3, Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the doctor promised a serviceman that she could help him with his discharge from service due to health issues for a fee. She assured him that she could influence the military medical commission members, create the necessary medical history, and extend his hospitalization.
The doctor valued her “services” at 4500 US dollars, demanding a prepayment of 3000 dollars, with the remainder to be paid after treatment.
She was detained in her office while receiving the first part of the bribe.
The full circle of individuals involved in this illegal scheme is being established.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the SV ORUP No. 1 of the Main Department of the National Police in the Odessa region, with operational support from the Odessa Department of the National Police's Anti-Corruption Unit.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner by a court verdict.
