Collaboration of Odesa City Council with Humanitarian Organizations
On October 15, 2024, an important meeting took place at the Odesa City Council, featuring acting Mayor Oleksandr Filatov and advisor on humanitarian issues Veronika Etnarovych alongside UN humanitarian coordinator Matthias Schmale.
Also present were: head of the Europe, Central Asia, and Caucasus department at UN headquarters Abdul Hak Amiri, acting head of UN in Ukraine Anne-Sophie Le Beaud, and other humanitarian organization representatives.
During the meeting, they discussed security issues, the humanitarian needs of the city amid the war, support for internally displaced persons, and winter preparations.
UN representatives emphasized the importance of including assistance for internally displaced persons in the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan.
They also addressed the need for stable operation of heating and water supply systems for social institutions during the winter period.
Oleksandr Filatov thanked international partners for their support in restoring homes affected by aggression.
