New Initiative for Family Support in Odessa Region

On November 27, 2024, Deputy Mayor of Odessa, Pavlo Vugelman, held a working meeting with Ms. Audrey Lecomte, head of the UNICEF regional office in Ukraine.

During the meeting, the project "Families at the Center: New Opportunities for Children" was presented, implemented in partnership with the Odessa City Council.

The project's main goal is to develop new forms of childcare that allow children to stay in their families.

Particular emphasis is placed on integrated services that provide support not only to children but also to their families in challenging circumstances.

"We are grateful to our partners at UNICEF for this crucial initiative that will create new opportunities for family support in the region. Together, we strive to ensure that every child grows up in a loving family," noted Pavlo Vugelman.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the establishment of a working group to coordinate the implementation of the project.

This initiative will be an important step towards strengthening family resilience and improving the well-being of children in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions.
