Home Internet Review in Ukraine: Vodafone vs Kyivstar in 2025

The independent French company nPerf examined the home internet offerings from Vodafone and Kyivstar in 2025, determining that Vodafone provides superior services to Ukrainian consumers.
Unlike previous years, where more Ukrainian internet providers were compared, this year’s study focused solely on Vodafone and Kyivstar, with the latter lagging behind in almost all metrics.
The research indicated that Vodafone boasts a higher average download speed of 200.48 Mbps compared to Kyivstar's 109.04 Mbps. Upload speeds are also higher at 196.4 Mbps versus 127.8 Mbps.
Additionally, Vodafone shows better website loading speeds and more stable video streaming, although in latency tests, Kyivstar has an edge with 18.32 ms compared to 22.40 ms for Vodafone.
Despite Vodafone's superior performance in nearly all tests, home internet from Kyivstar remains more popular, with user shares of 66% compared to 34% for Vodafone.
Moreover, nPerf did not clarify why only two providers were included in this year’s report. For comparison, in 2024, Vega was the market leader, and in the previous years, Lanet held the top spot.
It is also worth noting that at the beginning of last year, nPerf recognized Vodafone as the best mobile operator in Ukraine for 2024. This year's research, which will determine the winner for 2025, will be published in a few weeks.
