Fire Incident in Odesa: Buildings Saved, No Casualties
On January 11, 2026, a fire occurred in Odesa’s Peresyp district at a woodworking manufacturing facility.
The firefighting efforts were hampered by strong winds. Due to heavy smoke, firefighters operated with breathing and vision protection gear. Thanks to their diligent efforts, nearby buildings were saved. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
A total of 17 units of equipment and 52 firefighters from the State Emergency Service were involved.
Additionally, the Association of Volunteer Firefighters of Ukraine provided 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel.
The Municipal Guard contributed 1 unit of equipment and 4 personnel, while the Rescue Diver Service provided 1 unit of equipment and 3 personnel.
