Odesa and UITP Collaborate at InnoTrans 2024
The Mayor of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, held a meeting with UITP Secretary General Mohamed Mezghani during the InnoTrans 2024 exhibition in Berlin.
During the meeting, they addressed pressing issues facing Odesa, such as the need for updating the electric transport fleet, increased passenger loads, and the transition to cashless payments. Topics like inclusion and blackout risks were also discussed.
Mr. Mezghani expressed full support and readiness to assist Odesa in tackling these transport issues. UITP unites over 1900 organizations from more than 100 countries involved in transportation and its infrastructure.
Following the discussions, it was decided that Odesa would submit a request for updating its bus fleet, and UITP would help implement this through humanitarian assistance.
Additionally, both parties agreed to participate in a joint stand for the cities of Odesa and Hamburg at the upcoming UITP summit in Hamburg next year.
