Illegal Fishing Incident in Odesa: Offender Apprehended
During a fishing enforcement operation, government inspectors in collaboration with border service and police officers detected a significant breach of fishing regulations.
This was reported by the Odesa Fish Patrol.
A man was caught in the Belgorod channel engaged in illegal fish catching using prohibited methods – nets. As a result, the violator caught 9 white amurs and 34 carps weighing over 100 kg in total.
The damage to Ukraine's fish stocks has been estimated at 158,746 UAH. A forensic team from the National Police was called to the scene. An administrative report has been filed against the violator, and materials for opening a criminal case are being prepared. The police seized the illegally caught fish, nets, and a wooden boat.
