Elderly Woman Assaulted in Odesa: Disturbing Consequences for Mother of Fallen Soldier

An assault occurred in Odesa against a 72-year-old woman, a school employee and mother of a fallen soldier. The conflict arose when she attempted to secure a medical service agreement from the company "Intosana". The woman sustained serious injuries, and medical professionals warn of the risk of a second stroke due to stress. Her first stroke happened after the loss of her son.

This was reported by Elena Buynevich, the director of the Department of Education and Science of the Odesa City Council.

She indicated that individuals claiming to be employees associated with officials have been harassing the 72-year-old mother of the fallen soldier who works at a school in Odesa.

"Recently, she approached the office of this organization, where they promised to provide her with a medical service agreement from "Intosana". According to her, an office worker refused to let her into the empty office and hit her in the chest after a verbal dispute. The woman fell, her chest was pinned down by a knee, a hood was pulled over her head, and she was struck on the head.

The assailant fled as quickly as her age would allow. She returned to work, where she felt unwell. An ambulance was called, and the doctors reported the incident to law enforcement", - stated Buynevich.

The official added that the assailant attempted to find out the victim's phone number and noted that the incident is being presented as if the victim had attacked the office worker.

"The situation is being twisted to make it seem as though a 72-year-old woman, who suffered a stroke after losing her son, kicked the office representative. Did she jump up and strike? Have you seen her? She weighs barely 50 kg, hardly able to breathe! She cannot even lift her leg; how could she have beaten a woman trained in some combat sports?", - the message reads.

Elena Buynevich further revealed that she is being threatened on social media, demanding punishment for the school employee who supposedly assaults people. Meanwhile, the victim is being "called and humiliated".

"Law enforcement will investigate all the details of this case, I believe in this. I am writing this post not to accuse.  I believe my colleague, and logic, physics, anatomy are on her side. But I do not assert who is guilty. I relay her words.

Right now, I simply ask! The person is on the brink of a second stroke; today she almost lost consciousness twice in my presence. Give her peace.  She is not alone. She lives in Odesa and works in our 17,000-strong family. I looked at her as if it were my mother being crushed right now," - the official concluded.
