Lieutenant General Budanov's Visit to the Black Sea
Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, inspected the positions of the fighters of the “Timur Special Unit” on Zmiinyi and gas extraction platforms in the Black Sea.
He evaluated the forces and resources involved in defending the waters, including the so-called “drilling rigs” that were returned to Ukraine's control thanks to successful operations by the GUR and other security forces.
During his trip to the Black Sea region, Budanov held a meeting with officers regarding further actions within the overall strategy and awarded fighters from the GUR “Timur Special Unit” for their professionalism and bravery in defending the state during the war with Russia.
Together, they honored the memory of the fallen soldiers during the liberation of Zmiinyi and Ukrainian territorial waters from Russian occupiers.
“Honor to the fighters of the GUR and all Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine! Our active struggle against the aggressor at sea, on land, and in the air has shown the world that a united Ukrainian nation can overcome even a stronger enemy. No matter what anyone says, our future depends solely on us. The fight continues,” said Kyrylo Budanov.
