Weekend Wu Shu Training at Odessa Beach
This weekend, Odessa hosted an open training session for wu shu at an inclusive beach. The event took place outdoors, barefoot on the sand, providing a relaxed summer vibe.
Veterans joined the session, eager to explore this new sport. Various styles of wu shu were showcased, including both contact and non-contact, dynamic and health-oriented forms. Everyone had the chance to practice techniques, feel the rhythm of movement, and discover their inner balance.
The event exemplified how an inclusive space can be vibrant and welcoming to people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
The master class was conducted by:
Contact Wu Shu (self-defense):
- Volodymyr Shevchenko — master of sports in wu shu from Ukraine, European champion, multiple-time champion of Ukraine, licensed coach for the upcoming World Games in san da;
- Oleksandr Berezhnyi — honored coach of Ukraine, senior coach of san da at the Odessa federation of wu shu;
- Serhii Muntianu — war veteran, combat participant, san da coach at the Odessa federation of wu shu.
Non-contact Wu Shu (health-oriented direction):
- Valeriya Blahodyr — master of sports in wu shu from Ukraine, coach of health programs.
