New Initiatives in Ukraine's Defense Industry

Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov and his deputies to discuss important issues regarding international cooperation in defense. The main focus was on the production of armaments, particularly drones that can be deployed on the front lines.

Shmyhal shared updates via social media, noting that the agenda included key objectives set by the President following the Technology Stake meeting on June 27. Ensuring that military personnel are equipped with necessary resources and technology is a top priority.

“Protecting Ukrainian cities is essential,” he emphasized. “We plan to expand drone production in Ukraine and engage partners for the procurement of proven interceptor drones. We expect to see tangible results soon,” Shmyhal added.

The discussion also involved deputies who reviewed procurement and financing issues. The Minister stressed that every aspect must be activated to strengthen the country's defense capabilities.

“We need to work on every front to bolster our defense posture,” Shmyhal concluded.
