Enhanced monitoring of freight carriers in southern Ukraine.

Due to the rising risk of road accidents and the agricultural harvest season, the State Transport Safety has initiated new measures to identify violations in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.
To strengthen control, additional inspectors from other regions of Ukraine have been dispatched to the area.
«The war has significantly altered the logistics routes of the country. Currently, a large portion of freight transport to the ports passes through the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. Therefore, it is crucial to preserve the roads and reduce repair costs. I urge carriers to comply with weight regulations to avoid hefty fines», — emphasized the head of the State Transport Safety, Nikita Lagunin.
As part of the enhanced measures, monitoring on specific road sections is conducted around the clock. Inspectors pay special attention to carriers' adherence to weight standards and drivers' work and rest regimes.
The monitoring efforts are coordinated by the Odesa and Mykolaiv Regional State Administrations with the support of Ukrzaliznytsia.
