New Social Support Program for Schoolchildren
The Ukrainian government is launching a new initiative called the «School Package», which offers social payments to families sending their children to the first grade, amounting to 5,000 UAH.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting.
«This assistance is intended for those sending their children to first grade in an offline format», — Shmyhal explained.
According to the Prime Minister, the funds can be used for purchasing school supplies, books, clothing, and shoes needed for preparing children for the academic year.
Applications for the funds can be submitted via the «Diia» app or portal.
He noted that the process will be «convenient and straightforward». The funds can only be spent cashless, using cards in stores selling relevant school supplies.
He also emphasized that this payment will not affect the receipt of subsidies or other forms of social assistance.
«The Ministry of Social Policy will communicate all details, including the start of the application process», — Shmyhal added.
The head of the government mentioned that the launch of the «School Package» is part of a broader innovation aimed at encouraging Ukrainians to live and work in Ukraine.
As previously reported, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that the government is developing a comprehensive system of social support for families with children, covering all stages from pregnancy to adulthood.
