New Guidelines for Compensation on Damaged Housing
Ukrainians who did not manage to utilize the compensation funds for repairing damaged homes are now permitted to reapply for this service.
This was announced by Taras Melnychuk, the permanent representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, via Telegram.
Relevant changes have been made to the procedure for providing compensation for the restoration of certain categories of real estate affected by hostilities, terrorist acts, and diversions caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, using the electronic public service «eRestoration».
According to the changes, compensation recipients who, due to objective circumstances (defined by the resolution), failed to use the compensation funds fully or partially within the established time frame, are allowed to reapply for compensation or its remainder.
Moreover, norms regarding the responsibility of the compensation recipients for improper use of the funds have been established in case such a fact is revealed by the commission reviewing compensation issues.
As reported, within the framework of the "eRestoration" program, nearly 97,000 families have received assistance for the restoration of damaged property, and approximately 20,000 families have been compensated for acquiring new housing to replace destroyed properties.
