Arson of Medic's Vehicle: A Tragic Incident
In Odessa, unknown individuals set fire to the evacuation vehicle of combat medic Natalia Tarasova, who had been awaiting transfer for several days. The fire destroyed not only the vehicle but also all medical equipment, uniforms, and personal belongings, with losses estimated at 750,000 hryvnias.
The tragic event was reported on Facebook by volunteer Kateryna Nozhevnikova. According to her, the incident occurred two days ago while Natalia was temporarily in Odessa.
The arson resulted in the loss of not just the evacuation vehicle but also all the critical equipment needed for Natalia's work on the front lines. The flames consumed medical supplies, tactical medicine gear, Natalia's uniform, Starlink equipment, chargers, and more.
“During the night, her medical evacuation vehicle was burned. Everything, including medical equipment, tactical gear, Natalia's uniform, Starlink, chargers, and so on, was destroyed. In essence, everything that constituted Natalia's life over the past few years is gone,” Kateryna Nozhevnikova wrote.
Natalia Tarasova herself pointed out that the vehicle held great value even without considering the destroyed equipment, and the total losses amount to 750,000 hryvnias. The situation is further complicated by the fact that her son is currently on the front lines, leaving her without the means to fulfill her mission of rescuing injured soldiers.
The authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the circumstances of the arson and identify those responsible. Volunteer organizations have already begun fundraising to restore the medic's evacuation transport.
