Discussions on Prisoner Exchange
The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, announced that discussions in Istanbul covered the possibility of a prisoner exchange in the format of '1000 for 1000'.
Additionally, they talked about a potential meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Umerov on Talks with Russia
"We discussed the 1000 for 1000 exchange," he stated.
When asked about the next steps in the negotiation process, Umerov stated that "first of all, we need to focus on the exchange of prisoners."
"After that, we will inform you about our next steps," Umerov concluded.
The minister also noted that delegations from Ukraine and Russia discussed a ceasefire.
