Court Proceedings Against Odessa Man for Crimes Against Minor
A 47-year-old resident of Odessa, previously convicted, is now under investigation for serious crimes, including sexual assault against a minor. He is currently in custody.
This information has been confirmed by the police.
Last summer, a woman reported to the police about an assault committed by an unknown man against her 15-year-old daughter.
Authorities determined that the perpetrator, while intoxicated, approached the girl on the street and offered to take her on a shortcut to the city center. He lured her to a deserted location, where he committed sexual violence, which the girl later disclosed to her mother.
Within hours, detectives identified that the crime was committed by a 47-year-old man with a prior criminal record for theft and robbery.
The police tracked him down at his residence, where they discovered banned psychoactive substance 4-MMC during an urgent search, which he had purchased for personal use.
The offender was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the court accepted the request for his custody.
«During the pre-trial investigation, which was conducted under the supervision of the Primorsky District Prosecutor's Office of Odessa, police gathered sufficient evidence, including forensic conclusions, based on which charges were filed against the suspect under part 3 of Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for sexual violence against a minor without her consent, as well as part 1 of Article 309 for illegal possession of psychoactive substances», - reported investigator Valeria Buliga.
The investigation has been completed, and the indictment has been sent to court. The offender faces up to seven years in prison.
