Innovative Energy Solutions for Odesa
The utility company «Heating of Odesa» is in full swing preparing for the heating season of 2024/25.
Given the ongoing attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure, one of the primary objectives is to reduce energy consumption at the facility.
According to Odesa's Deputy Mayor Anna Pozdniakova, most pump units at «TMO» have significant wear and consume excessive amounts of electricity under current conditions.
For this reason, ahead of the new heating season, discussions were held between the management of «TMO» and the Swiss Embassy in Ukraine regarding the supply of four pumps, each with a capacity of 200 kW. The expected outcome is to lower energy consumption amid shortages.
Under the signed Memorandum, the Swiss Embassy financed the purchase of equipment valued at around 12 million UAH.
In early October, four anticipated pumps arrived in Odesa. The equipment is currently being installed at one of the facilities of the "Heating of Odesa" company, which services over 100,000 consumers and more than 421 administrative buildings, including medical, educational, cultural, and religious institutions.
“This equipment is crucial for the heating of Odesa. With reduced energy consumption, it will help provide thermal energy to consumers in the central part of Odesa. Reducing consumption is particularly important during outages from the central electricity supply and generator operation,” said Odesa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov.
The city of Odesa expresses gratitude to international partners for their ongoing technical support to critical infrastructure enterprises.
