Inauguration of a New Well in Odessa

Yesterday, October 8, 2024, after a lengthy renovation, the municipal enterprise «Service Center» officially opened the well located on Krymsky Boulevard.

The construction of this well began in 2002. Currently, the well on Krymsky Boulevard is the only source of drinking water for a large population in the Peresyp district of Odessa. It provides around 12-14 cubic meters of water daily (operating from 08:00 to 20:00).

On December 1, 2023, the well closed for renovation.

In early March of this year, to ensure residents had access to free drinking water, a temporary water distribution point was set up outside the well. The well functioned in this form until October 8.

According to the municipal enterprise «Service Center», as part of the renovation, drilling of an artesian well was completed, water treatment equipment was installed, and a new pipeline was laid from the well to the processing facility. Additionally, commissioning work was performed for both standard and alternative power supply modes.

During a meeting at the Peresyp district administration in March, residents positively assessed and supported the initiative to build another well in the Peresyp district, specifically in the park area near the «Zoryany» cinema. Construction of the new well has already begun.

It is important that this well will not only serve as a source of clean drinking water but will also function as an alternative water supply source in case of emergencies during martial law.
