Life-Saving Actions: A Heroic Medical Response
Recently, team No. 701 of the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance, operating in Podilsk, received an urgent call — a woman suddenly lost consciousness and stopped breathing. According to her husband, prior to this incident, she had complained of difficulty breathing, a sense of suffocation, and a sudden fear. Medical personnel arrived within minutes. The patient did not respond to external stimuli, and there was no breathing or pulse detected. This information was shared in a post by the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine.
The team immediately initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The monitor showed pulseless electrical activity. For 36 minutes of continuous resuscitation efforts, the professionals fought for the patient’s life.
Fortunately, their struggle was successful. The spontaneous heartbeat was restored, the patient was stabilized, provided with post-resuscitation support, and transported to the Podilsk City Hospital for further treatment.
The life-saving efforts were carried out by team No. 701, consisting of paramedics Volodymyr Pleshyvyi, Oleksandr Vasyurin, and emergency medical technician Maksym Tkach.
«Their professionalism, composure, and coordinated actions exemplify a true team for whom every second counts. Such results are also a testament to the effectiveness of the ongoing training and exercises conducted by the Center. Regular practice, refinement of resuscitation skills, and teamwork allow our specialists to act confidently even in the most challenging situations where the cost of error is human life. We thank our colleagues for saving lives, their daily dedication, and commitment to their profession!» – stated the Odesa Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance and Disaster Medicine.
