Renovation of Odesa Infectious Disease Hospital

Renovation work is actively underway at the Odesa Infectious Disease Hospital.

This hospital is the oldest healthcare facility in the city, established between 1802 and 1804 at the initiative of Duke Richelieu. It plays a crucial role in combating infectious diseases in Southern Ukraine.

Residents of Odesa, the surrounding area, and internally displaced persons receive care at this hospital. Recently, the facility has been transforming into a modern medical center capable of responding swiftly to challenges.

As part of the Ukrainian Recovery Program, implemented by the government and the European Investment Bank, renovation is taking place in two hospital buildings.

In the Valikhovsky building, which is an architectural monument, all structural elements will be reinforced, and authentic interior details along with marble stairs will be restored during the renovation. Currently, demolition work is being carried out, and structures are being reinforced and ceilings are being reinforced.

This hospital building will have its interior spaces reconfigured according to modern standards, and all old engineering systems will be completely replaced.

In the administrative building, the roof has been replaced, and facade restoration work is nearing completion. Inside the building, partition installation, finishing work, and replacement of engineering systems such as ventilation, water supply, sewage, and electricity are ongoing.

In addition to funds from the European Bank, other hospital buildings are being renovated using city budget funds. The final phase involves renovating a two-story children's wing, which will feature a modern boxed department with 82 beds.

City budget funds are also being allocated for upgrading the drainage system and reinforcing the foundation of the bacteriological laboratory.
