Free HIV Testing in Odesa

Despite the ongoing war, Odesa is committed to offering residents and visitors free access to HIV testing.

HIV testing is available at no charge in all city hospitals, primary healthcare centers, diagnostic facilities, maternity hospitals, and women's clinics.

Anyone can learn their HIV status for free within 15 minutes from a family doctor, at a diagnostic office, or in inpatient settings. Rapid HIV tests are funded by the City Health Program.

In the first nine months of 2025, 29,240 individuals underwent HIV testing in Odesa's medical facilities, leading to the first identification of 268 positive cases.

Patients with positive test results are referred to the City Center for HIV Prevention and Treatment for further examination, medical supervision, and free access to effective antiretroviral therapy, enabling individuals with HIV to lead long and fulfilling lives.

The organization of HIV testing in Odesa and the operation of multidisciplinary teams have received high praise from both national and global experts.
