Hearing Health Awareness Day in Odesa
Last week, a significant event took place in Odesa focused on promoting hearing health for all interested individuals, both adults and children. This initiative was organized with support from local health authorities.
Everyone had the opportunity to undergo a free hearing screening and receive professional advice from specialists, along with referrals for further testing if needed.
During this event, a total of 426 individuals were screened for hearing issues, including 251 children. The examinations revealed 116 cases of hearing impairments, with 64 of those cases involving children.
Out of those examined, 66 individuals were referred for further audiometric testing due to identified hearing conditions. ENT specialists provided consultations and recommendations to all attendees during the event.
Modern equipment for diagnosing hearing disorders was acquired for healthcare facilities in Odesa using city budget funds. Medical professionals emphasize the importance of regular hearing checks — at least once a year. It is also crucial to seek medical attention if there is a sudden decline in hearing.
