Regional Futsal Championships: New Victories in Odesa
The Odesa region has launched a new stage of futsal competitions within the framework of the «Side by Side. All-Ukrainian School Leagues» project. This initiative, spearheaded by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, aims to unite students under the motto «Together We Will Win!».
This season, participants are competing in several sports, with the number of players exceeding 20,000. A total of 2,440 teams from 541 educational institutions have registered in the Odesa region!
Today, eight strong teams competed for a single ticket to the national final in futsal (boys) across two age categories (grades 5-9 and 9-11):
- Odesa Secondary School No. 35,
- Velykomykhailivskyi Lyceum,
- Pavlivskyi ZZS,
- Saratskyi Lyceum,
- Nerubayskyi Lyceum No. 1,
- Zatyshanskyi ZZS,
- Voznesensky First Lyceum.
During the opening ceremony, Anton Shalyhaiilo, Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, addressed the young athletes and their coaches.
Supporting the teams was Oleksandr Kosyrin, one of the best scorers in Ukrainian football history, who is now a sports veteran and ambassador of the project.
From the very first moments of the competition, the region's sports mascot, the friendly dolphin, cheered on participants during intense matches.
In a fierce competition, the Pavlivskyi Lyceum team won in the 5-9 grade category, showcasing an impressive play against all rivals.
Among the boys in grades 9-11, the strongest were students from Kamchitskyi Lyceum.
