Enhancing Bicycle Infrastructure in Odessa
The municipal organization «Specialized Installation and Operation Unit» has summarized the work completed during this health season along the coastline.
With the establishment of a two-way bike lane from the 11th to the 16th station of the Great Fountain, cyclists can now easily travel from the city center to the 16th station.
«This bike lane provides safe transit throughout the city. We are noticing its growing popularity; therefore, on the mayor's instruction, we will continue to develop cycling routes across all districts,» stated Pavel Vugelman, the Deputy Mayor of Odessa.
The president of the «Arcadia» cycling club also emphasized the positive changes.
«This bike lane has become the best in the city. Since its opening, we have seen a significant increase in the number of cyclists. People are actively responding to the new markings. It’s encouraging as we witness the growth of cycling in Odessa,» remarked Victoria Bondarenko.
The city plans to further enhance the cycling transport infrastructure, including new routes connecting residential areas.
