Judo Tournament in Brno: Young Ukrainian Athletes Shine
On October 4-5, the traditional judo tournament - the European Cup of Hopes took place in the Czech city of Brno, featuring competitors aged 13 and 15.
The national team of Ukraine achieved first place overall, winning a total of 26 medals, including 6 of the highest rank.
Among the Ukrainian representatives, athletes from Odesa performed exceptionally well. Ivan Arsenyuk, a student of the Odesa Regional Children and Youth Sports School specializing in judo and rugby (coach - Vladislav Bolichevsky), won a silver medal in the 38 kg category. In the 73 kg category, Alexander Severgin from the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School No. 4 of Odesa (coach - Oleg Spivak) earned a bronze medal.
A total of 144 students practice judo in the specialized out-of-school educational institutions of Odesa.
