Shooting Championship for Young Athletes Concludes in Vinnytsia
Vinnytsia hosted the open championship of Ukraine in shooting for athletes born in 2007 and younger. Over 200 young shooters from 13 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv competed for medals in this youth tournament.
The Odessa team consisted of students from the municipal Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 3 and the regional shooting sports school.
In the prone position with a small-bore rifle at 50 meters, the champion of Ukraine was Ilya Ananyev (CDYUSSH No. 3), with Danilo Ananyev (CDYUSSH No. 3) securing third place. They also won the team championship in this event together with their teammate Yegor Mozusenko from the regional shooting sports school.
In the three-position small-bore rifle event, the Odessa team composed of Ilya Ananyev, Ilya Kostev (CDYUSSH No. 3), and Yegor Mozusenko (regional shooting sports school) also emerged as champions of Ukraine.
In the 50-meter prone small-bore rifle event among girls, the Odessa team featuring Ksenia Gerasimova (CDYUSSH No. 3), Kateryna Nikonenko, and Vitalina Martynyuk (regional shooting sports school) claimed silver medals.
The athletes were trained by coaches Olga Chikalova (CDYUSSH No. 3) and Svitlana Skachko (regional shooting sports school).
