Vadim Kravchuk: Silver Medal at Košice Event

Ukrainian high jumper Vadim Kravchuk claimed the silver medal at the Continental Tour event held in Košice.

This competition marked Kravchuk's first outing after the team championship of Ukraine in athletics, where he finished third behind Dmytro Nikitin and Vladislav Lavskyi.

At the Košice event, Lavskyi also competed, marking his first international appearance in 2025. The lineup was impressive, featuring silver medalist from Euro-2022 Tobias Potye, as well as Jan Štefela, Mexican Edgar Rivera, and Italians Marco Fassinotti and Manuel Lando.

What were the results of the high jump competition in Košice?

  • Lavskyi could not clear the height of 2.21 m, while Kravchuk successfully surpassed it on his second attempt.
  • The pivotal height was 2.25 m, which Kravchuk cleared along with Štefela on their third attempts; four other jumpers failed to make the height.
  • In the battle for gold, Kravchuk lost to Štefela, who cleared 2.28 m on his first attempt. After two failed attempts, Kravchuk raised the bar to 2.31 m but was unable to clear it.
  • 2.25 m equals Kravchuk's personal best for the season; he has previously cleared this height in June 2021 in Kyiv and in January 2024 in Germany.
