“Sokil” Takes Off: Odesa Police Support First Stage of the Game
The event is focused on instilling a sense of patriotism, respect for traditions, and skills necessary for self-defense and national security among the youth.
Law enforcement officials provided participants with essential safety guidelines and supported them during competitions in drill training, shooting, first aid, and various sporting challenges.
Maria Valovich, a juvenile prevention officer from the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi police department, who participated in the event with teams from educational institutions of the Tatarbunary and Lyman communities, stated:
«We took the opportunity to discuss general life safety rules with the children. We specifically reviewed how to handle suspicious and potentially dangerous objects. We also focused on pedestrian and cyclist safety rules. Additionally, at the request of the kids, we simulated an arrest of an offender, allowing the teenagers to experience being police officers themselves».
