Diplomatic Advances in Paris: New Horizons for Peace

The French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot described the meeting held in Paris on April 17 as a significant diplomatic success for France, which brought together Americans, Europeans, and Ukrainians at the same table.

In an interview with LCI, the minister emphasized the importance of the event, stating that representatives from Ukraine, the UK, France, Germany, and the USA were able to reach common agreements.

Barrot highlighted that this was the first such gathering where all parties made collective efforts to achieve peace.

“This is an important step forward as we strive for our common goal: peace,” he added.

The minister also noted that to achieve this goal, dialogue must continue, as “the Americans are eager to end the conflict” and “are listening” to calls for a ceasefire.

It is worth mentioning that on April 17, French President Emmanuel Macron received a delegation from the USA at the Élysée Palace, and a meeting also took place between the Ukrainian representatives and officials from France, Germany, and the UK.

The U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, remarked on the “very productive” discussions in Paris and shared a photo with the head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
