Celebration for Children: Interaction with Animals and Law Enforcement
An event dedicated to World Animal Day took place in Odesa for boys and girls who were forced to leave their homes due to the war and are currently residing in a charity fund.
The youth watched with great interest as police service dogs showcased their skills in obeying commands, searching for concealed items, and apprehending offenders.
«Our service dogs perform complex tasks daily, aiding the police in maintaining order and public safety. They also provide warmth and comfort to those who have experienced trauma. We aim for children to see every living being as deserving of love and respect,» emphasized the head of the canine center, Olena Chernilevska-Isaiko.
The head of the juvenile prevention department, Viktoriya Chalova, noted that children in difficult circumstances particularly need positive emotions and examples of kindness. Interaction with animals helps them feel safe and secure. Moreover, such meetings are beneficial for fostering humane attitudes toward animals and understanding the responsibilities that come with having a pet.
At the end of the event, the children took photos with the four-legged friends, which will remind them of the meeting that brought genuine emotions and valuable life lessons.
