Celebrating International Deaf Day in Odesa
Every year, the last Sunday of September is recognized as International Deaf Day, while September 23 is celebrated as International Sign Language Day.
To mark this occasion, citywide events are taking place in Odesa, continuing until September 30.
Today, September 24, a ceremonial event was held at the Odesa Cultural Center of the Ukrainian Society of the Deaf. The aim was to raise public awareness regarding the rights and freedoms of individuals with hearing impairments.
Representatives from the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council attended the event to greet everyone and present Honorary Certificates to the most active members of the society.
During the concert program, students from Odessa Special School No. 91 performed various musical and dance numbers, comedic sketches, and stand-up acts on stage.
The event was organized and conducted by members of the Odessa Regional Organization "Ukrainian Society of the Deaf".
