Odesa's Sports Achievements: Meeting with Champions
Odesa's Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov met with world and European champions, boxers Ramilya Gadzhieva and Vasyl Chebotar, along with the head coach of the Odesa Boxing Federation, Mykhailo Kreminskyi.
The athletes expressed their support for the mayor, highlighting his significant contributions to the development of the city's sports infrastructure and the promotion of physical culture.
Hennadiy Trukhanov is the founder of the National Thai Boxing Federation, which he led for many years and continues to actively support Ukrainian athletes.
During the dialogue, they discussed coaches who have been shaping the sports culture in Ukraine for decades and instilling a love of sports in the youth. Special attention was given to young coaches who have grown up in sports federations, undergone professional training, and are now passing on their knowledge to the new generation. They also talked about the current challenges facing Ukrainian sports and potential ways to overcome them.
“Sports is a part of my life. I know well what training, self-discipline, and team spirit mean. Sports help to raise a strong, patriotic youth. Everything related to the health of our children — the future of Ukraine and their physical preparation — needs to be supported and developed,” emphasized Odesa's Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
