Salutations to Builders of Odesa

On the eve of Builder's Day, Odesa's Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov extended his greetings to the residents engaged in this profession.

«On this pre-holiday day, accept my heartfelt congratulations and thanks for your diligent and responsible work. We are living in challenging times, where the number of buildings destroyed by Russian strikes far exceeds the newly constructed square meters. Since the onset of the full-scale invasion, Odesa has endured 138 enemy attacks, with 38 occurring just this year. A total of 3320 objects have been damaged due to shelling, and 131 have been completely destroyed. The residential buildings have suffered the most: 1109 high-rises and 689 private homes. However, thanks to your efforts, Odesa remains hopeful, retains its shape, and keeps its spirit. Despite the war, the city continues to develop. Since the start of the invasion, thousands of square meters of new housing have been put into operation in Odesa. Odesa has always been a city of craftsmen, and today we take particular pride in you — those who don’t shy away from difficulties, who work with integrity, and who are building the future», stated Gennadiy Trukhanov in his address.

On the occasion of the professional holiday, the Mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, presented honorary awards to representatives of the city's construction sector.

The Mayor also acknowledged the work of specialists from the Odesa State Academy of Construction and Architecture, who are involved in assessing the damage to objects affected by shelling, including architectural landmarks in the UNESCO zone.

The rector of the Odesa State Academy of Construction and Architecture, Anatoliy Kovrov, received the Honorary Distinction from the Odesa Mayor named after H.H. Marazli of the III degree for his significant contribution to the rescue and restoration of buildings after Russian attacks.

Additionally, honorary city awards were presented to construction industry workers who diligently strive to restore the damaged and improve Odesa.
