New Homes for Evacuated Children from Donetsk in Odesa
Children evacuated from Donetsk have received keys to their new homes in Odesa.
These homes are not just places to live but represent a fresh start for children who have lost their previous homes. Currently, six spacious, fully furnished houses have been acquired across different neighborhoods of the city. Each house accommodates between 8 and 12 children.
In the near future, plans are underway to purchase an additional four houses for two evacuated children's homes and two newly formed families that are being established here in Odesa.
«A special thank you to First Lady Olena Zelenska for her support, as well as to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for not only devising this plan but also providing funding from the state budget. We are also grateful to the UNICEF team for their assistance in further arrangements. Additionally, we have contributed some funds from the city budget, because when it comes to children, we do not count expenses, we count smiles», — stated Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.
The mayor wished the new residents that their homes become a place of strength, joy, and new beginnings, assuring that the municipality will always be there to provide support.
