Art Exhibition by Zoo Staff: UA ZOO - ART Launches in Odessa
The Odessa Literary Museum hosted a grand opening for the inaugural national project - «UA ZOO –ART», featuring an exhibition of artwork by staff from zoos across Ukraine.
Ivan Liptuga, the Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Culture and Marketing of the Odessa City Council, welcomed the attendees, highlighting that zoo employees selflessly rescue and preserve their animal charges while conducting educational activities that uplift the spirit of the Ukrainian people.
- At the exhibition, we presented works from employees of four Ukrainian zoos, - said the project's initiator, Igor Bilyakov, director of the Odessa Zoo. - This collection of paintings united zoo workers from the cities of Lutsk, Rivne, Mykolaiv, and Odessa. We aimed to draw attention to the creative and loving approach of zoo staff to their vital work during these challenging times.
The musical performances were provided by soloists from the Odessa Municipal Theater named after O. Salik and musicians from Art School No. 5.
All participants received honorary certificates, joined a creative movement, learned fascinating facts about the zoological world, and appreciated the artistic talents of zoo employees across Ukraine.
The organizer of the national project «UA ZOO – ART» is the KУ «Odessa Zoo», with the idea being proposed by Bilyakov I.V.
