New Stamps for Mother's Day by Ukrposhta
Ukrposhta has announced the release of new postal stamps honoring the indomitable mothers of Ukraine. These stamps will be unveiled in celebration of Mother's Day, marking a significant occasion.
As stated by Ukrposhta, the new product will serve as "a symbol of respect and gratitude towards Ukrainian mothers".
"Despite the challenges of war, Ukrainians pay tribute to the women who raised a nation of heroes. The new stamp from Ukrposhta is dedicated to all mothers who have blessed their children to defend the homeland, mothers who keep alive the memory of the fallen, a memory that cannot be destroyed by enemy bullets, and those who have joined the Defense Forces of Ukraine, fighting for a future for their children in a free state," the postal service explained.
The new stamp titled "For Mother's Day. I Live Through You…" depicts the embrace of a woman in traditional Ukrainian attire and a soldier.
"The woman, symbolizing the essence of motherhood, wraps her son in a bright yellow embroidered shawl, her face expressing deep sorrow and tenderness," Ukrposhta added.
The miniature's creator is Alexander Okhapkin, a distinguished artist of Ukraine, who also designed the stamp "Under the Protection of the Mother of God".
The print run for the stamps will amount to 320,000 copies. Additionally, Ukrposhta will release 20,000 "First Day" envelopes and 500 presentation folders. The cancellation with the special "First Day" stamp is planned to take place in Kyiv, as well as in all regions of the country.
The official launch of the stamp "For Mother's Day. I Live Through You…" is scheduled for May 9.
