Rehabilitation Milestone for Veterans: Key Meeting at the Foundation
A crucial working meeting was held at the «Protez Foundation», dedicated to the topic of pre-prosthetic training. Veterans who have received prosthetics due to the Russo-Ukrainian war, along with representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and health services participated.
The meeting started with an overview of the operations at the «Protez Foundation» prosthetic center, where attendees could observe the process of prosthetic creation and modern rehabilitation technologies.
"Pre-prosthetic training is an incredibly important stage in assisting our defenders,” noted Secretary of State Inna Yashchuk.
Yuriy Aroshidze, co-founder of the foundation, emphasized that there are currently over 2000 individuals waiting for prosthetics. Therefore, the meeting focused on discussing a multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation for patients after amputations.
“We are grateful to the Ministry for supporting the rehabilitation of our military, ensuring they feel everything is done for their recovery,” he added.
Special attention was given to the role of social workers in the physical and psychological rehabilitation of veterans and their reintegration into society.
Modern approaches to treating chronic pain in servicemen suffering from PTSD were discussed. Experts shared experiences of effective methods that significantly improve the quality of life for patients.
«I am thrilled that many of our physical therapy specialists received training in the USA, gaining valuable experience,» noted Inna Yashchuk.
Such meetings foster the development of a support system for veterans and a comprehensive approach to their rehabilitation.
