Land De-Mining Program: Recent Achievements in Ukraine

In Ukraine, 426 applications have been submitted by citizens for de-mining agricultural lands under the state compensation program, with over 1,500 hectares cleared in 2025.

This was reported by the Director of the Humanitarian De-Mining Center (HDC), Volodymyr Baida, during a television broadcast, as conveyed by Ukrinform.

“Currently, there is significant progress in the program. Since its inception, we have received 426 applications covering more than 14,000 hectares of agricultural land (previously, only 3,000 hectares were cleared in three years).

So far, 65 auctions have been held, and contracts worth a total of 835 million UAH have been signed under the program. Regarding the cleared area, more than 1,500 hectares have been freed this year,” he said.

According to Baida, 3 billion UAH has been allocated for the program in 2025.

“Farmers are much more active this year. Last year, eight out of 85 operators participated in the auctions, while now around 20 are involved,” Baida noted.

He clarified that out of 235 applications this year, 110 were rejected due to the lack of non-technical land surveys.
