Foreign Vessel Detained in the Black Sea

A special operation carried out by the Security Service and the State Border Guard Service led to the detention of a foreign vessel in the Black Sea, which illegally transported Ukrainian agricultural products to third countries from temporarily occupied territories.

This was reported by the SBU.

According to sources, the vessel is named Anka.

The investigation revealed that the detained vessel was part of a 'shadow' fleet of Russia, used for selling stolen Ukrainian grain. At the end of 2024, the cargo ship exported 5,000 tons of wheat stolen from the southern part of Ukraine from the port of Sevastopol.

According to the Border Guard Service, to disguise the origin of the cargo, the vessel sailed under the flag of one of the Asian countries.

During the search, navigation equipment, ship documentation, and other physical evidence confirming the vessel and crew's involvement in the illegal transportation scheme were seized.

The vessel has been arrested, and the crew has been detained. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
