ChatGPT Unveils Simplified Deep Research Feature
OpenAI introduces a new, streamlined version of the deep research feature in ChatGPT. This option is available for free to all users, although there are usage limits.
For paying subscribers, the simplified version will automatically activate once the full Deep research limit is reached. "Responses will be shorter, but they will maintain the same depth and quality that you are accustomed to," — states OpenAI.
This tool operates on the basis of the o4-mini model — a simplified version of the larger o4 model, which results in lower processing costs for requests. Consequently, this allows OpenAI to increase usage limits.
