Gruesome Murder in the Balt Community
Last October, a horrifyingly mutilated body was found in a forest near one of the settlements in the Balt community. The investigation revealed that two men aged 62 and 29, who had been drinking with the victim, were involved in the crime.
This was reported by the Odessa region police.
During a drinking session, a quarrel erupted between the men, escalating into a fight – the guests against the host. The younger man restrained the homeowner while the elder stabbed him in the chest with a knife he carried. This blow was fatal, and the victim died on the spot.
To cover up the crime, the perpetrators transported the body to the woods, where they mutilated it, including decapitating it, and set it on fire. The younger offender was apprehended at home by the police.
The court has placed him in custody without the possibility of bail as a preventive measure.
After committing the crime, the older man fled the scene and is currently evading the investigation. Separate proceedings have been initiated against him, and he is listed as wanted.
The police seized the vehicle used by the suspects, communication devices, and other items that may serve as evidence in the case.
The preliminary investigation regarding the 29-year-old suspect, who has a prior record for property crimes, has been completed.
He is charged with murder committed in conspiracy with a group of individuals. The case has been forwarded to court.
The maximum penalty for this crime is life imprisonment.
