Tragic Death of a Child in Odesa Region
A tragic incident has occurred in the Berezivka district of Odesa, where a one-year-old boy died in a hospital following numerous injuries. His 26-year-old mother was arrested by law enforcement on suspicion of violence.
According to the Main Directorate of the National Police of Odesa region, the child was brought to the hospital in critical condition, with doctors diagnosing him with a brain contusion and old fractures.
The mother claimed that her son got hurt after falling from the bed. However, during the investigation, police discovered that her testimony was false and that she had inflicted injuries on the child while he was crying.
The woman has been charged under Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to causing severe bodily harm. She is currently in custody, facing a lengthy prison sentence.
Law enforcement has also conducted several expert examinations to determine the exact cause of the child's death.
It is worth noting that recently in Ternopil region, a woman was sentenced for intentionally injuring her three-year-old son’s eye, resulting in the boy losing sight in one eye.
