Dangerous Trend Among Kids: A Game That Poses Risks

A risky trend is emerging among youth on social media – the game "Green Doors, Red Doors". In this game, kids attempt to induce a trance-like state in one another.

Experts from the National Social Service of Ukraine warn about potential risks to children’s physical and mental health.

During the game, participants use relaxation and visualization techniques to attempt to put a friend into a trance. This can lead to the feeling that the child sees imaginary rooms, which they describe.

Experts emphasize that such games can cause both physical and psychological issues. They can disrupt blood circulation, lead to spasms, headaches, and dizziness.

Additionally, there is a risk of elevated intracranial pressure, which can be dangerous for children with congenital conditions, potentially leading to strokes.

The service noted that "Green Doors, Red Doors" can trigger anxiety and disorientation, sometimes resulting in panic attacks and psychosis.

Nightmares and distortions of reality can also be consequences of such games.

Furthermore, dangerous trends can lead to social and behavioral issues for children:

  • isolation;
  • irritability;
  • nervousness;
  • engaging in dangerous or criminal activities.

"Be aware! The aggressor country uses gaming mechanisms to recruit children for real crimes and acts of sabotage, such as arson and explosive placements," the social service emphasized.

What should parents do if their children are engaging in dangerous activities?

Parents are advised to build trusting relationships with their children to notice when they are drawn to dangerous trends. It is important to calmly talk with the child about their interests in the game and listen without judgment.

Then, they should explain the potential risks of such games, discussing their impact on mental health and the possibility of involvement in criminal activities.

"Pay attention to emotional behavior. If the child becomes withdrawn, anxious, or experiences nightmares after the conversation, seek help from a psychologist," the specialists added.

This year, a dangerous challenge involving children making firecrackers circulated on social media. In one week, three children were hospitalized in Lviv due to attempts to create hazardous products.
